Luisa Montalvo

2024 Toastmasters International World Champion
Luisa Montalvo was born and raised in South Texas. She then moved to Austin Texas, where she worked at Abbott laboratories for 25 years before retiring at the age of 53.
For the last 8 years Luisa has been busy rescuing, fostering and transporting homeless dogs all over the United States. She has fostered and cared for over 1000 homeless dogs!
Luisa joined Toastmasters International in 1989 for 3 years, then rejoined in 2013. In 2019, she competed in the international contest against participants from over 143 countries, where she placed 2nd in the world. She competed again in 2024, and placed 1st in the world! She is the 1st Hispanic to achieve first place!
She is currently working on starting a free spay/neuter clinic for homeless dogs. She loves saving animals, giving inspiring speeches and making friends along the way. She is striving to make her mother proud. Please join me in welcoming Luisa Montalvo.
